Project Engineer, Lead

Key Role:

Assist in the successful planning and execution of the program's day-to-day operations and cross functional projects within the Program Management Office. Serve as the technical expert who will analyze and refine operational workflows according to specific client specifications and technical standards and bridge the gap between our technical team and our clients by creating compelling presentations, driving continuous process improvements, and expertly handling incoming client requests. Drive operational excellence and enhance business performance, and provide a strong blend of technical, analytical, and leadership skills. Develop concise, clear, and detailed PowerPoint presentations for both internal teams and external clients to communicate project status and analytical results. Identify, analyze, and implement opportunities for process optimization within project workflows across the Program Management Office, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness, including analyzing project performance data and developing documentation for new and improved procedures. Act as a key point of contact, managing ad hoc requests with a focus on problem-solving and delivering high-quality, timely solutions. Collaborate with program management, technical teams, agile teams, and stakeholders to ensure horizontal and vertical integration of the project plan and presentations. Collect and analyze project data to create reports, identify trends, and inform strategic decisions for both internal stakeholders and clients. Facilitate client weekly status meetings. Communicate project status, risks, and issues clearly and concisely to leadership withing the Program Management Office.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in a project engineering role within an Agile or software development environment, including interacting with clients

  • Experience creating presentations using software, such as Microsoft PowerPoint

  • Experience with Agile methodologies, such as Scrum, and SAFe

  • Experience with Agile project management tools, such as Jira and Confluence

  • Ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences

  • Ability to translate technical data into actionable business insights

  • Ability to analyze and problem-solve to identify and drive process improvements

  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple ad hoc tasks effectively with minimal supervision, and manage complex projects from inception to completion

  • Active TS/SCI clearance; willingness to take a polygraph exam

  • Bachelor's degree

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience leading and motivating cross-functional teams

  • Experience building and maintaining strong relationships with clients

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, complex environment

  • Ability to pay strict attention to detail

  • Possession of excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Possession of excellent analytical and organizational skills

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or relevant Professional Certification, such as Agile Scrum Master or SAFe Certification

Clearance:

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $112,800.00 to $257,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
