Freelance Web Developer (Salesforce Commerce Cloud Expert)

Location: Remote

Contract Type: Freelance / Project-Based

Duration: Q4 FY25 - Now - December, possible option for additional hours in FY26.

About the Role

Our software client seeking an experienced Freelance Web Developer with deep expertise in Salesforce Commerce Cloud (SFCC) to help design, develop, and customize e-commerce experiences. This role requires a strong grasp of front-end and back-end web development, UI/UX design, and the ability to implement custom-branded templates and Lightning Web Store (LWS) components within Commerce Cloud.

You'll collaborate with our internal marketing and product teams to build visually engaging, high-performing, and user-friendly online storefronts that reflect our brand standards and drive conversions.

Responsibilities



  • Design, develop, and maintain e-commerce websites using Salesforce Commerce Cloud (SFCC).
  • Build and customize LWS (Lightning Web Stores) and reusable templates for scalable deployment.
  • Implement custom branding, UI/UX design, and responsive layouts across web and mobile. We are seeking a style guide and some additional guidelines for the site when making additions.
  • Integrate front-end components with back-end business logic and data models.
  • Optimize website performance, speed, and user experience.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (marketing, design, product) to align site features with business objectives.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues within the SFCC platform.
  • Stay current with SFCC updates, best practices, and emerging e-commerce technologies.


Required Skills & Qualifications



  • 3+ years of experience with Salesforce Commerce Cloud (SFCC) development.
  • Strong knowledge of LWS (Lightning Web Stores), ISML templates, and custom cartridges.
  • Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6+), JSON, Node.js, and Java (back-end).
  • Experience with UX/UI design principles and ability to translate wireframes into responsive front-end code.
  • Familiarity with APIs, data integrations (GTM), and Salesforce platform tools.
  • Understanding of SEO best practices, site performance, and cross-browser compatibility.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a remote environment.


Preferred Qualifications



  • Experience with Headless Commerce or Composable Commerce architectures.
  • Knowledge of Salesforce Experience Cloud or Marketing Cloud integrations.
  • Familiarity with version control (Git) and agile workflows.
  • Background in graphic design or brand implementation is a plus.

  • Security and compliance awareness: Especially important for handling customer data and transactions.
