Job Summary

The Project Engineer serves as the Product Owner for a product team within a large Solution Train. This role is responsible for managing and prioritizing the product backlog, ensuring transparency and understanding among stakeholders, and collaborating across teams to deliver maximum value to the customer. The position requires active participation in agile planning and execution, with a focus on delivering high-quality solutions aligned with program objectives. This position requires an active Secret Clearance and is based in Orlando, FL, with a 50% hybrid work schedule.

Job Responsibilities




  • Build, edit, and maintain the team backlog with input from stakeholders, including Program Management, Engineering Program Management, and Integrated Product Team leads.



  • Refine and manage the backlog as part of the agile development rhythm, including during Program Increment (PI) Planning.



  • Collaborate with the team to continuously mature and prioritize the story backlog.



  • Understand the scope of upcoming enabler work and partner with architects to support decision-making.



  • Evaluate team progress and guide the team's work to achieve product and program goals.



  • Own and manage risks and opportunities for the assigned product.



  • Ensure completed user stories meet stakeholder needs and comply with the defined Definition of Done.



  • Drive alignment between stakeholders to ensure backlog items deliver maximum customer value.




Job Requirements




  • Active Secret Clearance required.



  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field preferred.



  • Demonstrated experience serving as a Product Owner or in a similar role within an agile development environment.



  • Strong understanding of agile principles and program-level planning activities such as PI Planning.



  • Excellent organizational, communication, and collaboration skills.



  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities and deliver value-driven outcomes.

  • Active Secret Clearance is required at the time of hire and must be maintained throughout employment.
