THE POSITION

Children and families are the center of our community and require the utmost support and resources. Cambria County Child Welfare Services is looking for an outgoing and numbers-minded professional to join our team in performing the accounting and budgetary work needed for using state and federal funds to protect children and their families effectively. As a County Fiscal Officer 2, you will serve as a lead fiscal member staff in our agency. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this key fiscal leadership role, you will have multiple opportunities to flex your analytical muscles! Our team will rely on you to supervise and train staff to perform daily projects in preparation of the agency's budget, expenditures, and revenue. This involves analyzing program changes, projecting estimated costs base on funding requirements, and preparing state and federal expenditure reports.

You will achieve success in this position by combining your ability to develop and maintain extensive knowledge of state and federal regulations governing our multiple funding streams with your ability to collaborate with a variety of individuals. This is key for reporting findings to the County Commissioners and County Controller, assisting other staff with audits, and ensuring completion of all mandated reports for the receipt of various state and federal funding.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as a County Fiscal Officer 1; or
  • Two years of accounting and/or budgetary experience and a business-related bachelor's degree that includes six college credits in accounting; or
  • Four years of accounting and/or budgetary experience and a business-related associate's degree that includes six college credits in accounting; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training which includes or is supplemented by six college credits in accounting.

  • Hiring preference for this vacancy may be given to candidates who live within Cambria County. If no eligible candidates who live within Cambria County apply for this position, candidates who reside in other counties may be considered.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:

  • A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination and a drug screening.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
    • Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
