Prepare, monitor conduct and analyze mechanical and hydraulic performance and durability tests on motors, pumps, transmissions, and steering. Also performs systems analysis, machine analysis, test stand fabrication, fixture modification, and installation of prototype hardware. Works mostly with Engineering but may also work with shop floor personnel, customers, and sales force.

  • Set up, operate, and maintain a variety of test equipment including performance and endurance test stands.

  • Set up and conduct standard and non-standard, new design, and prototype assemblies for testing or as samples.

  • Prepare technical reports and graphs.

  • Fabricate test fixtures and fit-up transmissions, brakes, pumps, motors, and any prototype products on test vehicles.

  • Measurement and analysis of components related to print specifications.

  • Perform various other duties as required.

  • Two years of college level technical education or trade school preferred. May substitute related experience for education.

  • Must be a motivated self-starting team player who is capable of working to meet tight timelines.

  • Must have good written and verbal communication skills.

  • Must have good organization skills.

  • Capable of using Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

  • Have the ability to learn and use various electronic systems such as Somat and other test control and data acquisition software.

  • Ability to use welding, machining, and measurement tools.

  • Must be able to read engineering drawings, graphs, and circuit diagrams.

  • May be required to work on 2nd or 3rd shift as needed.

  • Occasional overnight travel to customer, test location
