Senior Manager, Platform Content Experience

Office hybrid in San Francisco, CA or Seattle, WA

Job Description:
The Content Experience (CX) team is looking for a Senior Manager to lead a group of amazing content creators in our Platform organization. Our team is responsible for highly innovative content that makes it easier for admins and developers to create custom Salesforce experiences. We create Help topics, developer guides, release notes, videos, Trailhead modules, and more.

You're an excellent match if you're an experienced people manager who enjoys empowering teams to do their best work. The role requires an excellent communicator who both embraces ongoing change and can create stability in its midst. You should be passionate about using cutting-edge technology to achieve business goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Inspire, coach, mentor, and provide professional development for a team of writers.
  • Work with your team and stakeholders to determine direction and priorities for your content area and make smart tradeoffs when those priorities evolve.
  • Provide consistency and process in a very fast-paced product development environment.
  • Plan, track, and report on work to provide visibility and alignment across the team and to leadership.
  • Monitor content performance to identify opportunities for content and process improvement.
  • Champion a user-centric approach to content development, ensuring our content is intuitive, findable, and meets the needs of our varied audiences.
  • Recruit, hire, and onboard new writers as the team grows.
  • Partner with the CX leadership team to align on overall direction and priorities.

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of people management experience in a fast-paced product environment
  • 5+ years of experience in writing for technical audiences
  • Ability to manage priorities, cross-functional stakeholder relationships, and executive reporting
  • Excellent communication, analytical, interpersonal, and team development skills
  • Sound judgment and decision-making abilities
  • Strong skills in customer advocacy and influencing
  • Great organizational and process-management abilities
  • Track record of improving existing content deliverables, processes, and teams
  • A related technical degree required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with Salesforce products, ecosystem, and infrastructure
  • Experience with generative AI and LLM-based solutions
  • Experience with source control software such as GitHub and markup languages such as Markdown
  • Experience with authoring environments such as VSCode and Oxygen
  • Experience with collaboration tools such as Slack
