Position Overview






Primary Purpose of Position
The Business Analyst, reporting directly to the Senior Associate Vice Chancellor and Deputy CFO, is responsible for supporting all operations within the Comptroller's and Budget and Planning office. This role involves analyzing financial and operational data to aid decision-making and promote financial transparency. The Business Analyst will extract data from financial systems, assist in preparing financial reports, and support the implementation and maintenance of financial systems.

A key responsibility is identifying ways to better serve the our campus customers, particularly through the creation of accessible and user-friendly reports. The Business Analyst will collaborate with departments across the university to provide financial insights, recommendations, and ensure smooth workflows.

Additionally, the role focuses on optimizing operational efficiency by streamlining processes and proposing improvements. The Business Analyst will also assist with compliance and audits, providing necessary financial data and ensuring adherence to university policies and regulations.
Primary Function of Organizational Unit
The Division of Business and Finance is dedicated to providing an effective and efficient accounting operation and quality fiscal support of the instructional and research mission of the University, and seeks to achieve excellence in all phases of operation as encouraged by the University's initiative
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree in a discipline related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education
Master's degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or other related discipline area.
Five years of professional accounting experience or equivalent combination of training and experience.
Required License or Certification
Is this position eligible for a remote or hybrid work arrangement, consistent with university and state policies. Hybrid (Employees are working part-time in the office to perform job tasks that require on-campus engagement, and the remaining time at home)
