Position Summary:

While operating under the oversight of the Director of Radiology Operations (or VP of Radiation & Radiology if no DRO is in place), The Associate Director of Radiology Operations (ADRO) will manage and oversee the daily operations of the Radiology activities throughout their assigned region. The ADRO will supervise and develop the Radiology Managers (RM) at each AON facility that provides diagnostic imaging services and Radioligand therapies within their assigned region. The ADRO will also consult with those practices that may or may want to offer Radioligand therapy without diagnostic imaging services. The ADRO will work to standardize procedures, processes and protocols among their assigned locations and ensure that RMs maintain timely filings of ACR renewals, Radioactive Materials Licenses, annual CON reports and all other regulatory filings as required. Additionally, The ADRO will assist the DRO and/or the VP of Radiation & Radiology in tasks and projects as may be required to support Radiology services offered by AON practices. The ADRO will work in collaboration with other ADRO's to ensure their policies and procedures are consistent throughout AON.

Key Performance Areas

KPA 1 - Operational Oversight.

  • Oversee operational and administrative aspects of all assigned Radiology facilities.
  • Appropriately delegate and oversee operational supervision for assigned Radiology facilities to RM/Lead reports.
  • Maintain awareness of the current status of each assigned Radiology facility at all times

KPA 2 - Financial Performance

  • The ADRO will oversee budgetary/financial performance of assigned Radiology facilities.
  • The ADRO will approve Radiology expenditures that fall outside the limits for assigned RM's.
  • The ADRO will monitor expenditures of assigned Radiology facilities to ensure levels are appropriate for facility's level of operations.
  • The ADRO will monitor assigned Radiology facilities' P&Ls and implement needed actions to improve
  • The ADRO will ensure RMs become well-versed in reading and understanding the implications of changes in their department's P&L
  • The ADRO will ensure RMs understand both the operational and capital budgetary process and how to maintain budgetary levels and/or adapt when modifications are required.

KPA 3 - Revenue Cycle.

  • The ADRO will maintain awareness and knowledge of current CPT10 and Dx Codes for services performed in their region.
  • The ADRO will help guide assigned RMs to ensure the correct CPT10 codes are appropriately being billed for specific radiological procedures.
  • The ADRO will ensure that assigned RMs are applying appropriate Dx Codes to procedures and that patients are meeting the proper criteria for specific services.
  • The ADRO will review and stay abreast of Revenue Cycle performance and implement procedural changes as soon as sub-standard performance is encountered.
  • The ADRO will ensure that their assigned RMs grow and develop in their ability to understand Revenue Cycle functions along with KPI's such as Accounts Receivable, Days Outstanding, Charges vs. Collections and how these factors influence the financial performance of the facility.
  • Assist AON's Rev Cycle team in maintaining radiology procedure codes and order sets within AON's corporate EMR and billing system.

KPA 4 - Regulatory Compliance.

  • The ADRO will ensure that RMs maintain appropriate accreditation for imaging services provided and ensure timely filings.
  • The ADRO will ensure that RMs maintain state and Federal regulatory filings, records and logs in an organized and easily accessible format, including Radioactive Materials License and Certificate of Need report filings.
  • The ADRO will maintain their personal active State license and certifications in Nuclear Medicine and Computed Tomography. Must meet all state and certification requirements for Continuing Education Units.
  • The ADRO will endure their assigned RMs comply with all Federal and State laws and regulations pertaining to patient care, patient's rights, safety, billing, and collections.
  • The ADRO will ensure that all assign Radiology facilities adhere to all company and departmental policies and procedures, including IT policies and procedures and Disaster Recovery Plan.
  • The ADRO will ensure that assigned RMs will maintain the confidentiality of all patient and employee information at all times within their facilities as required by HIPAA regulations.

KPA 5 - Staff Development.

  • The ADRO will support RMs in supervising the activities of all technical radiology staff and other assigned personnel.
  • The ADRO will support RMs in optimizing staff work schedules.
  • The ADRO will support RMs in the professional growth and development of assigned staff.
  • The ADRO will perform annual evaluations for all direct reports, including RMs.
  • The ADRO will justify, interview, and hire new RMs in accordance with AON HR policies, as well as support their assigned RMs in doing the same for their assigned Radiology facility and personnel.

KPA 6 - Ongoing Support for Central Services.

  • The ADRO will assist assigned AON Radiology departments in implementing new and novel diagnostic imaging procedures and/or radioligand therapies.
  • The ADRO will assist Clinical Applications IT team in integrating radiology PACs systems into AON's corporate infrastructure.
  • The ADRO will support GO Live/Transition activities for onboarding practices that offer radiology or radioligand services.
  • The ADRO will provide insight, support, and assistance in the development of marketing materials for Radiology services as well as clinical documentation and patient consent forms.
  • The ADRO will act as liaison between assigned Radiology locations and AON's corporate PACS provider.
  • The ADRO will report to and meet regularly with the DRO and/or VP of Radiation & Radiology Services to keep them informed of all operational activities throughout their assigned Radiology locations.
  • The ADRO will keep the DRO and/or VP of Radiation & Radiology informed of any occurrences or situations that may subject a practice and/or organization to any liability or regulatory risk.
  • The ADRO will be expected to work at any location to help meet business needs.
  • The ADRO will perform other duties and projects as assigned by the DRO and/or VP of Radiation & Radiology Services as may be needed.

Position Qualifications/Requirements

Education: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Radiology Sciences or Nuclear Medicine Previous Experience:

  • Five years Nuclear/PET experience.
  • Three years supervisory experience.

Certifications/Licenses:

  • Certification in both Nuclear Medicine Technology (NMTCB or ARRT) and Computed Tomography (ARRT).
  • Must have current CPR/BLS certifications.
  • Fluency in the English as well as excellent oral and written communication skills is essential.
  • Valid state Driver's License for travel to satellite offices and offsite meetings. Compliance with the company Driver Safety Operations and Motor Vehicle Records Check Policy is required.
