We are hiring a Senior Staff Engineer to join our organization on a remote basis (CST/EST timezone). This person is responsible for design, architecture, leading the development team, and coding with the following program languages: * Java * Spring Boot * Containerization/Cloud technologies * Messaging (Kafka, RabbitMQ, etc) * Microservices, API Integrations * DataDog * ETL * TDD * Responsibilities* * Lead the design and architecture of scalable, cloud-native applications. * Provide technical leadership and mentorship to the development team. * Develop and maintain high-performance backend systems using Java and Spring Boot. * Implement containerized solutions using Docker and Kubernetes in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP). * Design and integrate microservices and APIs for seamless system interoperability. * Manage messaging systems such as Kafka and RabbitMQ for real-time data flow. * Apply Test-Driven Development (TDD) practices to ensure code quality and reliability. * Build and maintain ETL pipelines for efficient data processing and transformation. * Monitor and optimize application performance using observability tools like DataDog. * Collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, QA engineers, and DevOps teams. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Chicago, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $80.00 - $100.00/hr.
