Responsibilities:

As a Public Policy and Government Relations Manager, the major duties include performing research for decision making, then authoring policy positions for the organization. Strong communication skills, especially writing, are required.

The position supports the organizations Government Relations Committee, manages community/philanthropic sponsorship process, and is responsible for planning and overseeing events related to government relations as well as below:

  • Manage state legislative tracking during sessions and prepare materials for the Government Relations Committee.

  • Collaborate with lobbyists and trade associations to monitor policy issues and engage subject matter experts to shape organizational positions.

  • Provide research and policy analysis to support leadership decisionmaking.

  • Maintain public policy files, records, and tracking lists for campaign contributions, sponsorships, and senior leader community board service.

  • Draft policy position documents and manage publicpolicyrelated communications, including testimony, presentations, and web content.

  • Partner with internal communications and legal teams to ensure timely and accurate internal policy updates.

  • Coordinate key public policy events, attend external meetings, and provide summaries for leadership.

The ideal candidate is a strong communicator with solid political awareness, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively across internal teams, lobbyists, and external partners.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of five (5) years experience preferred.
  • Bachelors Degree required. Relevant experience could include: work in an elected officials office or for a state or federal agency, non-profit work, experience with a trade association, or similar.
  • Interest and experience in healthcare or public policy preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills required.
