Nurse Techn - part time, Mercy Jefferson

The Nurse Tech role is designed for current nursing students who have completedFundamentals of Nursing. As a Nurse Tech, you will have the opportunity to work closely withMercy nurses to gain real life experience on a hospital unit while still in nursing school!

The Medical A floor at Mercy Jefferson is a fast-paced 30-bed unit that cares for patients of all ages. Many of the patients are chronically ill and require multidiscipline treatment plans and goals. As part of the health care team, you will help educate patients on a wide variety of topics ranging from procedural/surgical expectations to what medications patients will be taking once discharged. Potential health care workers who are compassionate, team-orientated, hard-working, flexible, enjoy caring for people from all walks of life, will find working on this unit very rewarding while expanding their clinical knowledge base and enhancing their skills.

Qualifications:

Required Education:High school diploma or G.E.D. and enrolled in a board-certified nursing program.

• Prior to employment, the Nurse Tech shall provide student transcripts indicating they have completed Fundamentals of Nursing from an accredited school of nursing and provide competency skills list from their learning institution.

Minimum Physical Requirements

• Position requires individuals to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis.
• Position requires prolonged standing and walking each shift.
• Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
