The Role:

Entegris is currently seeking a Research & Development Scientist II to join our Advanced Purity Solutions Division. This position will be at our San Luis Obispo, CA facility.

The position will be provide support and expertise for gas purification technology. This position will contribute to next-generation technology development and applications-based activities of the R&D team through hands-on experimentation, using state-of-the-art gas-phase analytical instrumentation (GC, FT-IR, APIMS, CRDS, etc.), as well as characterization tools such as porosimetry, thermogravimetry, and diffraction.

What You'll Do:

• Manage and execute defined research projects.
• Communicate results through written reports and oral presentations.
• Analyze and interpret test data, maintain documentation of test operation, and ensure data quality and integrity.
• Work with Quality team to employ tools and techniques when developing test methods and product specifications.
• Participate in site Continuous Improvement activities across safety, quality, and efficiency.
• Review and/or author test reports, work instructions, and other technical documents as required.
• Provide management with weekly progress updates.
• Collaborate with and support other internal R&D and functional groups as needed.
• Create a healthy and safe work environment for all employees.
• Any other duties as assigned.

What We Seek:

• BS or MS in Chemistry/Chemical Engineering or equivalent.
• 2 years of lab experience using gas-phase analytical equipment w/ equipment knowledge and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to clearly communicate technical information and ideas to internal and external audiences.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Good recordkeeping (lab notebook, written test plans and reports.

• Compensation: $90,000 - $100,000 range with actual pay dependent on candidate overall skills for the role.
