THIS POSITION IS APPOINTIVE SERVICE



$4,201.72 to $4,621.89 biweekly. Actual salary negotiable based on experience and qualifications. Government Center/Viera. Work schedule is Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and may include evenings, weekends, and holidays. Performs skilled professional work directing the employees and activities of the Engineering, Design, Drafting, and Flood Plain Management functions of the Public Works department. Supervises professional, technical, and clerical staff.



REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering; PLUS seven (7) years of experience in the field of Civil Engineering, with an emphasis on engineering design and/or capital project construction and which included five (5) years of progressively responsible management experience. Additional qualifying education and/or experience may be substituted on a year for year basis. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Must possess, or obtain within six (6) months of employment, a valid active State of Florida Professional Engineer (PE) License in accordance with the requirements of Florida Statute 471, and maintain said license in an active status during the term of employment. Must possess, or obtain prior to employment, a valid Florida Driver's license and maintain said license during the term of employment. In the event of a hurricane, major storm, natural or man-made disaster that may threaten the area, the employee will be required to perform emergency duties as directed.
