The Office of Government and Community Relations at the University of Central Florida serves as the official liaison between the University community and all levels of government. Our team advocates for UCF's funding priorities and works to build and strengthen relationships with government officials and agencies. Office Culture

The Office of Government & Community Relations is a relatively small unit in which the members work as a team. While the office has defined leaders for local, state, and federal government and other relationship management assignments within the team, all members assist each other as needed, especially in large initiatives and events, as well as covering for each other during a team member's absence. The office also works closely with and regularly assists the staff of the Office of the President when requested.

The Opportunity:

UCF Government & Community Relations seeks candidates for an Administrative Coordinator III. The position will provide the primary support for the Associate Vice President, Federal Relations (AVPF), with occasional support of the Senior Associate Vice President, Government & Community Relations (SAVP), including administrative tasks for the UCF Legislative Scholars Program. The position will work with the external community providing appropriate and professional communications on behalf of the AVPF. With guidance, the position will also handle and implement projects that promote and achieve the objectives of the office, including various administrative tasks and project management duties as assigned.

As the first point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, this position will represent UCF, building strong relationships while keeping things running smoothly. The ideal candidate is highly organized, an excellent communicator, and committed to delivering exceptional service in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities:


  • Coordinate logistical protocol and administrative arrangements for meetings and special events and ensure all necessary documents and materials to support the AVP are provided; communicate with all participants on agenda and subject of meetings.

  • Serve as the main point of contact in setting priorities for the AVPF relating to appointments, itinerary, communications, and travel arrangements.

  • Ensure effective and appropriate access to the AVPF and utilization of the AVPF's time by managing and maintaining a complex calendar, keeping appointments, arranging meetings and responding to invitations on behalf of the AVPF.

  • Provide administrative support when needed for various work groups, projects, and committees that are periodically organized and needed for the Office of Government & Community Relations.

  • Provide administrative and logistical support for the UCF Legislative Scholars Program, including tasks such as scheduling meetings and program activities, assisting in organizing applicant documentation, tracking communications with colleges and departments, UCF alumni, scheduling speakers, overseeing FDLE background checks, serving as a point of contact for the Scholars, assisting in updating and maintaining web courses, supporting event logistics which will include attending some events after hours, submitting expense reports, and other day-to-day program operations.

  • Serves, in a capacity as a project manager, under the general guidance of the AVPF or others, prioritizing projects and inquiries.

  • Prepare written correspondence or documents as needed; create, review and proof highly sensitive documents for grammar, editing, and content prior to them being signed and sent out.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's degree and 4+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219(6).

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Proven track record of delivering high-quality customer service in a professional setting, with the ability to serve as a primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders.

  • Experience with administrative support, particularly with coordinating complex calendars, travel arrangements, and event logistics.

  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook) and familiarity with Canvas, Handshake, Linktree, and other productivity tools.

  • Strong understanding of social media platforms (LinkedIn, X, Instagram, etc.) for professional engagement and outreach.

  • Experience with enterprise systems, particularly Workday.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with stakeholders at all levels of an organization.

  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Familiarity with government processes or the military experience is a plus.
