Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Welder to join our Houston-based team. This role involves welding and repairing carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum components using multiple welding processes. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude, can pass all required weld tests, and is comfortable working from blueprints and technical drawings in a production or industrial environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform welding using SMAW (Stick), GMAW (MIG), FCAW (Flux-Core), GTAW (TIG/Heli-Arc), and SAW processes
• Weld in 2G and 4G positions to meet quality and structural requirements
• Operate Heli-Arc (TIG) welding equipment for X-ray quality welds
• Weld and repair carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum structural shapes, tubing, and piping
• Repair castings, gouges, and leaks by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling components
• Move, position, and secure castings and materials for welding operations
• Perform cutting, straightening, and forming using cutting torches, presses, and hand tools
• Change gas cylinders and select correct welding gases for various alloys
• Inspect completed welds visually to ensure compliance with government and industry specifications
• Identify and perform major and minor equipment repairs using welding and mechanical skills
• Inspect, maintain, and repair gas equipment, including hoses and gauges
• Follow all safety standards, welding codes, and workplace procedures

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 4-8 years of hands-on welding experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment
• Must successfully pass all weld tests
• Proficient in reading blueprints, welding symbols, and engineering drawings
• Knowledge of welding standards, trade procedures, and welding codes
• Strong understanding of metal properties, weld shrinkage, and welding techniques
• Experience with acetylene and electric welding equipment
• Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and welding-related equipment
• Strong attention to detail and communication skills
• Ability to interpret technical manuals
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Formal welding training preferred
• Welding certification may be required

Preferred Knowledge

• Geometry and physical properties of metal machining
• Properties and characteristics of metals used for cutting and forming
• Occupational safety practices related to welding hazards
