|
The Executive Director of Enrollment at Michigan Tech provides enrollment strategy, vision, and leadership, and develops enrollment growth initiatives that capitalize on Michigan Technological University's strong position in the marketplace as a premier R1 institution. This aggressive, goal-oriented individual will broaden enrollment pipelines that directly contribute to growth in incoming student enrollment. The Executive Director drives pipeline development strategies in new and existing markets by cultivating key partnerships, stewarding engagement opportunities, leveraging communication, funnel management, and technology to spearhead the University's enrollment growth. This individual will work closely and collaboratively with a talented team of enrollment professionals with aggressive growth goals and will play a significant role in expanding the University's footprint.

Responsibilities and Essential Duties
|
1. Leverage the University's strong marketplace position for expansion. Work closely with the Associate Vice President for Enrollment Management, the Executive Director of Admissions, the Director of Financial Aid, the Director of K-12 Outreach, and the Director of Thompson Scholars to expand Michigan Tech outside the University's traditional markets by developing enrollment pipelines that stimulate growth. 2. Proactively develop, execute, and implement high impact enrollment initiatives that are in line with Michigan Tech's R1 strength through formal and informal partnerships. Continuously assess these opportunities for ROI and prioritize based on potential impact. 3. Work hand in hand with the Associate Vice President to actively manage the top of the enrollment funnel through application, including assisting with high impact communications, and work closely with Financial Aid and Admissions to ensure yield activities are of world-class quality and aggressive strategy. 4. Build and manage strategic partnerships across education and industry sectors to design mutually beneficial agreements that strengthen recruitment pipelines, and align with Michigan Tech's enrollment objectives. 5. Leverage the legacy and experience of our K-12 Outreach team to ensure that high impact partnerships are created and maintained, and that K-12 outreach initiatives are adequately funded to supplement top of funnel volume. 6. Track, manage, and leverage opportunities using Slate, and provide vision to the Slate team to ensure that system is being managed and built with growth in mind. 7. Along with the Associate Vice President for Enrollment, continuously monitor industry trends and identify opportunities for programmatic changes within Michigan Tech that will lead to enrollment growth. 8. Develop and execute counselor advisory board activities that are in line with the quality, prestige, and high touch atmosphere the University is known for. 9. Under the direction of the Associate Vice President for Enrollment Management, assist with the development of strategic plans for enrollment management leaders on campus, synthesize, and coordinate how to communicate these plans across campus. 10. Ensure all above activities are done with significant emphasis on quality, prestige, and high touch and are in line with other events on campus (e.g. Leading Scholar). 11. Commit to learning about continuous improvement strategies and applying them to everyday work. Actively engage in University continuous improvement initiatives. 12. Other duties as assigned 13. Required Education, Certifications, Licensures

Required Experience
|
* At least seven years of relevant experience in admissions, recruitment, enrollment management, k-12 leadership, and/or sales. * Demonstrated experience in recognizing projects that contribute to the University's growth goals and ability to recognize when ROI isn't present. * Experience managing budgets. * At least five years of experience in a relevant leadership role or at least five years of experience motivating sales or enrollment teams to build pipelines that meet growth goals. * Demonstrated adeptness at executing complex projects in fast paced environments from concept to implementation. * At least five years of experience with enrollment or sales strategy. * Demonstrated ability to provide recruitment/sales programs that attract students/customers in new or emerging market segments. * Demonstrated ability to capitalize on opportunities that lie in margins. * Demonstrated ability to contribute to enrollment or sales goals in a measurable way. * Demonstrated discretion in maintaining confidentiality in sensitive situations * Demonstrated ability to set goals with accountability attached. * Demonstrated ability to exercise flexibility and composure in fast-paced, rapidly changing environments. * Experience with CRM and/or student information systems. * Encourage continuous improvement practices among employees; commit to applying continuous improvement strategies to strategic goals and leadership skills.
