Job Summary This position requires work onsite at least one day per week.
Applies acquired skills and professional clinical applications concepts for small to medium-sized projects of moderate scope. Operates independently within the defined scope of responsibilities.
The APeX Ambulatory team falls under the Health IT department, which is responsible for the maintenance and expansion of UCSF electronic health record (Epic) and related technologies. The APeX Ambulatory Analyst position will report directly to the APeX Ambulatory Team Lead/Supervisor and up through the APeX Ambulatory Manager.
The APeX Ambulatory Analyst must achieve EpicCare Ambulatory certification (within 6 months of hire). The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement. The salary range for this position is $81,200 - $131,100 (Annual Rate). Department Description Health IT is responsible for all aspects of the UCSF electronic health record software, Epic, also known as Apex (Advancing Patient-Centered Excellence) for UCSF hospitals, practices, affiliates and community partners. The APeX Ambulatory P2 Analyst will work in collaboration with senior Ambulatory analysts, other APeX application teams, clinical/business operations, and guides to enhance and maintain the Epic electronic health record. The P2 analyst provides excellent customer service to end users, tracks issues, and follows up as appropriate. Analysts will work in multiple locations, including UCSF Medical Center locations, Benioff Children's Hospitals-Oakland and San Francisco, UCSF campus, and community connect partners.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in health care information technology, computer science, or related area, and/or equivalent combination of experience/training.
- Two years relevant work experience
- Epic Ambulatory certification completed within 6 months of start date
- Working knowledge of clinical applications systems and functions, including development, implementation, user support, maintenance, and system testing and evaluation.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills, with the ability to quickly diagnose problems and develop multiple options for effective and timely resolution of issues and problems.
- Demonstrated interpersonal and customer-service skills to collaborate productively on a team and to provide training and support to clinical providers and staff.
- Detail-oriented, with demonstrated organizational skills and the ability to manage time efficiently, prioritize tasks, set schedules, and complete projects in a timely and cost-effective manner.
- Demonstrated skills in written and verbal communications, with the ability to convey technical information to clinical users in a clear and concise manner.
- Working knowledge of departmental systems and procedures for documentation and reporting, with the ability to perform tests, and to analyze, and interpret relevant data.
- Ability to work with senior staff and managers, serving as a technical resource and providing advice and counsel on issues of functionality, efficiency, cost-effectiveness, policy, and performance.

- Clinical License of RN, MA or other Tech license/certification
