The Clinical Informaticist Analyst will report directly to the Director of Clinical Informaticist. This role is responsible for interacting and understanding the clinical processes and revenue cycle processes, understanding system functionality as well as new features and functions introduced in new software releases, identifying and improving processes to allow capturing of all charges for services being provided, identifying testing requirements for new functionality and regression testing requirements of existing functionality, educating and communicating with staff regarding processes, auditing and reporting outcomes of the processes, and utilizing all internal and external resources in order to accomplish and sustain improvements.


POSITION OVERVIEW

Responsibilities:

  • Generates the development of policies and procedures and provides guidance on Electronic Medical Records
  • Analyzes the development, implementation, and evaluation of procedures and systems in medical records
  • Serves as the interface across clinical and financial disciplines and information systems to coordinate interdisciplinary projects
  • Utilizes electronic information systems to generate and maintain accurate clinical and financial data
  • Collaborates with other health care professionals in evaluating projects and determining key benchmarks for use in subsequent evaluations
  • Assists other health care professionals in data interpretation and use
  • Analyzes the success and quality of health care initiatives
  • Maintains knowledge of current clinical and systems best practices for improving data integrity and resident outcomes
  • Connects nursing information data through computerized information systems to increase efficiency and effective management of clinical data.
  • Maintains knowledge of current clinical and systems best practices for improving data integrity and resident outcomes
  • Reviews and evaluates the monitoring systems and documentation completion in the EMR
  • Works closely with Applications Analysts, departments, and technical teams to create and maintain appropriate application and workflow documentation Additional tasks/responsibilities as defined.
  • Serve as the internal clinical resource for the trend transformation team
  • Serve as the clinical authority in support of trend governance decisions makers
  • Collaborate with internal and external clinical subject matter experts as needed to support efforts
  • Provides clinical leading indicators to support the measurement and testing of clinical trend initiatives
  • Performs routine maintenance, functions, and security of EMR

Qualifications:

  • Strong organizational skills and able to communicate information gathered
  • Analytical experience with large amounts of data and understanding of long-term care clinical terminology
  • Creative problem solving based on information from EMR
  • Develop programs and processes to improve overall Clinical Quality and Regulations
  • Bachelor's Degree - BSN or other clinical degree or equivalent education and experience is required.
  • Registered Nurse (RN) preferred, Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) required
  • One (1) to three (3) years of prior experience in a healthcare environment supporting revenue cycle and / or clinical operations is required.
  • 2+ years' experience with a healthcare EMR is required.
  • Long Term Care Experience preferred
  • Current unencumbered registered nursing license in the state of practice.
