Human Resources Specialist Senior Job ID: 322127 Location: Rio Salado Community College Full/Part Time: Regular/Temporary: Regular Salary Range $22.06 - $28.67/per hour, DOE Grade 112 Work Schedule The standard work schedule will be Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm during the Academic Year. 7:00am - 6:00pm during the Summer Months This position offers remote work allowing employees a combination of onsite and work from home options. Job Summary Coordinates and performs a wide variety of advanced level human resources functions and applications in accordance with established guidelines in Rio Salado College's Human Resources department utilizing independent action and technical knowledge. Routinely deals with highly confidential information and sensitive situations. Works with diverse population of staff, faculty, administrators, students and the public. Essential Functions 40% - Coordinates, prepares and monitors documents for various stages of the hiring process to include job requisitions, screening and interviewing packets and archive materials; prepares and updates weekly report of college HR actions for supervisor; utilizes employee group policy manuals for routine matters related to job postings. 30% - Communicates with internal and external customers to include administrators, faculty, staff and the public requiring a detailed knowledge of district and college HR policies and procedures such as checking status of job searches/applications, evaluating faculty transcripts, recommending placement on salary schedule and various personnel-related actions; assists with interview schedules and forum/room set ups; Reviews applicant materials for completeness. 20% - Serves as liaison between District departments, college search committees and interviewees; Maintains confidential records in Human Capital Management (HCM), google drives and college files; Maintains databases and records; Runs queries and prepares reports on time and labor; assists with payroll & time and labor inquiries. 10% - Prepares position advertising to be used internally and externally for the college; Prepares and monitors payroll documents to include temporary employee new hire packets, I-9, and assignments; Performs other related duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma or GED and four (4) years of work experience in human resources, customer service, general office work, or administrative support and coordination. The required experience can come from any combination of the areas listed. There is no substitution or equivalency allowable for the High School Diploma or GED. OR An equivalent combination of education and/or experience as described above sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation, may be considered. Desired Qualifications A. One (1) or more years' experience working in a functional human resources setting B. Experience working with PeopleSoft HCM C. Experience working in a team environment D. Experience working in an environment with frequent interruptions and deadlines E. Experience handling confidential information and highly sensitive matters F. Experience utilizing computer applications such as Microsoft Office Suite Special Working Conditions May include evenings and/or weekends to meet departmental needs during peak periods. May require prolonged periods of standing, bending and stooping to retrieve and file records. May require lifting objects up to 25 lbs.
