The Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy is a professional school offering a doctoral program in Planning and Public Policy as well as in Health Administration; master's degrees in Public Policy, Urban Planning and Policy Development, Public Informatics, and Health Administration; undergraduate degrees in Public Policy, City and Regional Planning, Urban Planning and Design, Health Administration, and Public Health. The School has eight research centers and institutes, and annually attracts approximately $25 million in external grants and contracts. The programs in urban planning, public policy, and public health are all highly ranked nationally.

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Development Specialist II for the Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy. Under general supervision by the Director of Development of the Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy, this position exists to further the school's fundraising priorities and outreach activities to donors, alumni, and friends of the school, including members of the school's Advisory Board.
Among the key duties of the position are the following:
- Identifies and researches gift prospects and/or funding sources, constructs donor profiles, helps to organize and attend events to cultivate donors and alumni, and acknowledges donors.
- Creates gift reports, statistics, and other informational materials for the development director and dean.
- Tracks and maintains data on alumni.
- Cultivates and establishes relationships with alumni through communicating with regional alumni and attending school career events.
- Tracks and reports student success stories and assists the Communications Director of the School in publicizing alumni, donor, and outreach successes.
- Performs professional work that requires knowledge of prospect research, event implementation, and donor cultivation, good communication, and writing skills.
- Provides related support to the school's Communications Director to create opportunities to enhance overall relations with friends of the school.

Qualifications
| Minimum Education and Experience |
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, communications, human resources, public policy, public health, urban planning, i.e., a Bloustein degree or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
- Two years of experience that demonstrates knowledge, skill and understanding of donor-based work, public relations, customer service and/or alumni/career management function including experience with database management, market research and promotional methods (e.g., mailings, social media, etc).
