About Petco:

We're proud to be "where the pets go" to find everything they need to live their best lives for more than 60 years - from their favorite meals and toys, to trusted supplies and expert support from people who get it, because we live it. We believe in the universal truths of pet parenthood - the boundless boops, missing slippers, late night zoomies and everything in between. And we're here for it. Every tail wag, every vet visit, every step of the way. We are 29,000+ strong and together we nurture the pet-human bond in more than 1,500 Petco stores across the U.S., Mexico and Puerto Rico, 250+ Vetco Total Care hospitals, hundreds of preventive care clinics and eight distribution centers. In 1999, we founded Petco Love. Together, we support thousands of local animal welfare groups nationwide and have helped find homes for approximately 7 million animals through in-store adoption events.

The Opportunity

This is a high-impact leadership role at the center of Petco's distribution network transformation. As Manager of Industrial Engineering, you'll own the systems, standards, and strategies that determine how efficiently we operate across our DC network - while mentoring a talented team of IEs and subject matter experts to reach their potential.

If you thrive on turning complex operational problems into clean, measurable solutions - and you want a seat at the table where those solutions get funded and built - this role was built for you.

What You'll Own

People Leadership

  • Hire, develop, and lead a team of DC-based Industrial Engineers and Subject Matter Experts.
  • Provide meaningful coaching, performance feedback, and development planning to grow the next generation of supply chain leaders.
  • Define team strategy, priorities, and budget aligned to Supply Chain leadership direction.

Operations Excellence

  • Define and document best-practice processes across the DC network and drive network-wide accountability for adherence.
  • Lead continuous improvement efforts - identifying, quantifying, and executing opportunities in methods, layout, equipment, and cost reduction.
  • Manage CI projects using Six Sigma methodology and mentor leadership teams in performance measurement and improvement execution.

Labor Management Programs

  • Own all aspects of the Labor Management program: engineered labor standards, policies, and performance history documentation.
  • Lead design, configuration, and support of Manhattan LM, time clock systems, and tablet-based time study capture tools.
  • Partner with HR, Finance, and Supply Chain leadership to align on LM strategy and communicate program updates.

Network Growth

  • Support DC network expansion: design, layout, process definition, equipment selection, and startup support for new facilities.
  • Partner with the Facilities team to source and install storage and material handling systems.

Reporting & Analytics

  • Measure, interpret, and communicate DC performance; build staffing and planning models to support management decision-making.
  • Partner on the development and automation of business-critical reporting tools - providing operational input and supporting network-wide rollout.

External Partnerships

  • Develop and manage consultant, contractor, and vendor relationships to supplement internal capabilities, benchmark performance, and drive innovation.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field.
  • 5-7 years of progressively responsible IE experience, including 3+ years in a retail DC environment with direct people management.
  • Hands-on experience developing and maintaining engineered labor standards.
  • Experience with WM and LM systems - Manhattan Systems strongly preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of retail distribution center operations and labor management best practices.
  • Strong analytical mindset paired with clear, confident communication skills - you can translate data into decisions and present to any audience.
  • A track record of leading cross-functional teams through complex, multi-workstream improvement initiatives.

Ready to Lead?

We're looking for someone who's as passionate about developing people as they are about optimizing processes. If that's you, we'd love to talk.
