Engineering Technician

As an Engineering Technician, you will engage in entry-level technical work to become proficient in working as a member of a survey team to operate manual and electronic equipment for preliminary, right-of-way, engineering, bridge, construction, land, and property surveys. You will apply basic surveying principles in the collection and reporting of data used to design and construct highways and bridges, as well as assist with the operation and maintenance of various types of surveying instruments. You will also utilize a wide-range of Global Positioning System (GPS) receivers and procedures to establish mapping and survey grade point locations. This includes performing trigonometric and algebraic calculations, preparing field sketches and notes, and reviewing the work of others to ensure accuracy. In addition, you will assist with making crucial field decisions regarding location and recording of traverse and topography points.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment
• Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
• Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• An associate degree in surveying, drafting, designing, civil, or any other appropriate field of engineering technology.
• Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.

Other Requirements:

• This particular position also requires possession of a valid driver's license.
