Job Description:

Analytical Mechanics Associates (AMA) is seeking an experienced Aerothermal Engineer to support the Research, Science and Engineering Services (RSES) contract at NASA Langley Research Center in Hampton, VA. This position requires subject matter expertise in the aerothermodynamic environments of crewed (e.g. Orion) space flight capsules and engineering database development; and utilizing this expertise by participating in human space flight aero sciences panels, and working groups on subjects of entry aero heating, boundary layer transition correlations, and surface roughness engineering correlation databases.

This is a local remote position, meaning the successful applicant will telecommute but will be required to attend occasional onsite meetings.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • 10 or more years of experience in aerothermodynamic environments of crewed space flight capsules.

  • 10 or more years of experience working with engineering database development.

  • Demonstrated experience participating in human space flight aero sciences panels and working groups.

Desired Qualifications:
  • PhD in Aerospace Engineering or related field.

The salary range for this position is $120,000 to $170,000 commensurate with education and experience.

This position requires US Citizenship or Permanent Residence.
