Job Description

Position Summary

The Director of Embolic Sales is responsible for leading and expanding the national commercial strategy for a portfolio of liquid embolic agents used in interventional procedures. This role drives revenue growth through strategic leadership, clinical expertise, and execution excellence in a highly specialized, physician-driven market. The Director will build and lead a high-performing sales organization while partnering cross-functionally to accelerate adoption, optimize market positioning, and expand clinical utilization. This position will be responsible for the Western half of the United States from the TX, OK, KS, NE, MN line, West inclusive of Illinois as well.

Key Responsibilities

Commercial Strategy & Execution

  • Develop and execute national sales strategies specific to liquid embolics, aligned with company growth objectives.
  • Drive market penetration and utilization across IR and other interventional specialists.
  • Lead annual planning, forecasting, and budget management for the liquid embolic franchise.

Sales Leadership & Team Development

  • Recruit, train, and develop Regional Sales Managers with deep clinical and procedural expertise.
  • Establish clear performance metrics and conduct regular business reviews.
  • Coach teams on complex selling, case coverage, and value-based clinical discussions.

Clinical & KOL Engagement

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key opinion leaders in interventional radiology and other interventional specialties.
  • Support physician training, proctoring, workshops, and case observations related to liquid embolic use.
  • Act as an executive-level presence in high-value accounts and complex sales opportunities.

Product & Market Expertise

  • Maintain deep expertise in liquid embolic technologies, handling characteristics, delivery techniques, and clinical indications.
  • Monitor competitive products, emerging technologies, and evolving clinical data.
  • Provide field-driven insights to Marketing, Medical Affairs, and R&D to guide messaging, education, and pipeline development.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Compliance

  • Partner with Marketing, Clinical, Training, and Operations teams on product launches and commercialization initiatives.
  • Ensure sales activities comply with regulatory, quality, and company policies.
Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree (MBA, MS, or clinical background) preferred.

Experience

  • 10+ years of medical device sales experience, with at least 5 years in sales leadership.
  • Direct experience selling liquid embolic agents strongly preferred.
  • Proven success in interventional radiology or endovascular markets.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive adoption of clinically complex, procedure-dependent technologies.

Skills & Competencies

  • High clinical acumen and credibility with physicians.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and organizational development skills.
  • Strategic mindset with hands-on execution capability.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Willingness to travel extensively (50-70%).
