The above reflects the anticipated hourly wage range for this position if hired to work in New Jersey.

The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.

Job Overview:

The Administrative Assistant is responsible for the daily operations of the department by performing secretarial, receptionist and general clerical duties. Directly responsible to Division Chief. Also functions as a liaison between other internal and external departments and/or providers.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • High School Diploma
  • Good organizational and communication skills required
  • Knowledge of medical terminology a plus but not essential
  • Computer skills required

Preferred:

  • Bachelor degree and three years of healthcare experience preferred

Scheduling Requirements:

  • Shift: 8:00am-4:00pm
  • Monday-Friday
  • Full Time-Day

Essential Functions:

  • Schedules patients for clinic office visits for multiple providers
  • Maintains Division Chief's personal calendar Maintains appropriate records and establishes departmental filing systems to ensure the expeditious retrieval of information so that department head and/or department staff can accomplish their responsibilities in time frames
  • Answers telephone, divert calls, receives and relays messages accurately
  • Ensures and maintains adequate levels of office supplies and equipment
  • Participates in overall telephone coverage on behalf of the entire Department and maintains complete and accurate telephone/visitor messages for department personnel, assuring timely and accurate routing of messages in a professional and courteous manner at all times
  • Provide general support to patients and providers
  • Follow up on all request from clinical staff for patient info, patient letters and communication
  • Performs other duties as assigned
