Position: Photonic Test & Characterization Co-Op Number of Position(s): 3 Duration: 4 Months Date: May - August 2026 Location: Onsite - New York, NY EDUCATIONAL RECOMMENDATIONS Currently enrolled in a U.S.-based accredited university pursuing an M.S. or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Applied Physics, or a related quantitative field . Characterize active and passive photonic devices and integrated circuits Support test development and analyze measurement data to validate design performance Develop and optimize test approaches for both wafer-level and system-level photonic components Collaborate cross-functionally with design, modeling, and systems teams to co-develop photonic solutions Hands-on lab experience with optical testing, fiber-to-chip coupling, and design verification Programming skills in Python or C/C++ Familiarity with optics simulation tools such as Lumerical Preferred Skills: Experience in photonic integrated circuit (PIC) design, layout, and modeling Understanding of coherent optics or optical communication systems Experience with high-frequency/RF photonics modeling Familiarity with RF test equipment (e.g., VNAs, spectrum analyzers, AWGs) Advancing connectivity to secure a brighter world.
