As an Allied Universal Security Officer at a government location, you will support access control by verifying credentials, managing visitor check-in, and monitoring entry points and CCTV for security-related concerns. You will conduct routine patrols, stay visible to help reduce incidents, and provide clear, professional communication and customer service to staff and guests. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and contractors by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Control access to the facility by verifying credentials, issuing temporary badges as authorized, managing visitor check-in and/or check-out, and directing individuals to approved areas.
  • Operate access control systems, including monitoring doors, gates, and credential readers, and reporting access issues or unauthorized entry attempts.
  • Maintain accurate logs and reports, including visitor records, incident documentation, and key and/or badge accountability as required by post orders.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established escalation and notification procedures.
  • Help to deter unauthorized activity by observing behavior, communicating expectations professionally, and requesting assistance when needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of interior and exterior areas, including entrances, perimeters, and restricted zones, with working environments and conditions varying by location.
  • Monitor cameras and/or alarm notifications as assigned, document notable activity, and report concerns to site contacts and/or Allied Universal leadership.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have 6+ months of security experience.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
