Job Description




As a Security Officer - Healthcare Center - Full Time in New York, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer in a healthcare location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and stay visible to help to deter security-related incidents. You will support access control and visitor flow, respond to calls for assistance, and communicate clearly with staff, patients, and guests while delivering customer service. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a healthcare location.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including coordinating with clinical staff and local responders as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of interior areas and the perimeter, including parking areas, entrances, corridors, and other assigned spaces to help to deter unauthorized activity.
  • Monitor access points and assist with visitor management practices, including directing foot traffic and supporting staff with access control expectations.
  • Observe and report unusual conditions, suspicious behavior, and policy violations, and complete timely documentation in required reports and logs.
  • Support de-escalation efforts for disruptive behavior and request additional assistance when situations may require a higher level of response.
  • Assist with security-related checks of doors, locks, lighting, and restricted areas, and report maintenance concerns through the proper channels.
  • Provide clear directions and general assistance to patients and visitors, supporting a professional and respectful environment.
  • Participate in shift briefings and follow post orders, emergency procedures, and client-specific protocols while representing Allied Universal in a courteous manner.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have a minimum of 2 or more years of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • CPR certification is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
