The School of Criminal Justice, Rutgers University invites applications for on-line Lecturer teaching positions in the undergraduate and graduate program for Summer 2026. Undergraduate courses will occur in over the duration of three summer schedules- Session 1 runs from 05/26/2026 - 07/02/2026 ; Session 2 runs from 07/6/2026 - 08/12/2026; and Session 3 runs from 5/26/26 - 8/12/26. All graduate courses will run over the 12 weeks from 5/26/26 - 8/12/26. The schedule for each of the courses offered is below. In your application materials, please indicate what course you would like to teach.
Successful applicants will develop and instruct undergraduate courses on a wide variety of topics including, but not limited to the following:
Undergraduate course (all online):
- Criminology (session II)
- Introduction to CJ (session I)
- Criminal Justice Research Methods (session I)
- Data Analysis in CJ (session II)
- Contemporary Policing (Session I)
- Internship for UGs (12 weeks)
Graduate course offerings are:
- MA Seminar (12 weeks)
- Issues in CJ: Cyber Crime (12 weeks)

Qualifications
| Minimum Education and Experience |
Masters or Juris Doctorate Required.
Doctorate Preferred.
Demonstrated ability to teach at the university level.
Applicants with comparable degrees from accredited institutions may also be considered. Prior teaching experience is also preferred.
