Responsibilities
- Management of geotechnical explorations, which consists of performing boring layouts, obtaining utility clearances, supervising drill rigs, classifying soils, determining appropriate laboratory tests, geotechnical engineering computations, and preparing Geotechnical reports
- Assist Senior Staff in marketing, preparing proposals, interfacing with clients with regard to both project specific issues and development, and project budget management and client invoicing
- Serve as a technical authority and subject-matter expertin pavement engineering, leveraging extensive experience in national-level research, design standards, and applied innovation.
- Lead and provide senior technical oversight forpavement design, evaluation, rehabilitation, and asset management projectsacross highway, roadway, and transportation infrastructure programs.
- Translate federal research, policy, and design guidance intopractical, implementable solutionsfor state DOTs, municipalities, and private-sector clientsas aconsultant service line opportunity.
- Providestrategic technical advisory servicesto clients on pavement performance, lifecycle cost analysis, materials selection, sustainability, resilience, and risk mitigation.
- Oversee and reviewpavement design reports, specifications, models, and technical memoranda, ensuring quality, consistency, and compliance with applicable standards and best practices.
- Apply deep experience inR&D and innovationto guide clients on emerging technologies, new materials, performance-based design approaches, and pilot program implementation.
- Support the development and refinement offirmwide pavement engineering methodologies, tools, and standard practices informed by national research and evolving industry trends.
- Serve as atechnical mentor and educator, providing training, coaching, and knowledge transfer to engineers and project teams at all levels.
- Develop and delivertechnical training programs, workshops, and presentationsfor internal staff and external clients, including DOT personnel and industry partners.
- Participate inpeer review panels, technical committees, and professional organizations,maintainingvisibility and thought leadership within the pavement engineering community.
- Collaborate with project managers and business development teams to providetechnical input for proposals, scopes of work, and project approaches (without primary sales responsibility), primarily in owner-support opportunities..
- Support client relationships by serving as atrusted technical advisor,participatingin key meetings, technical briefings, and project kickoff discussions.
- Contribute towhite papers, technical publications, and conference presentations, reinforcing the firm's reputation for technical excellence and innovation.
- Stay current onnational and international pavement research, codes, standards, and funding initiatives, advising leadership and clients on implications for future projects.
- Pursue andidentifycapture teams for DOT(and similar institutions)proposals for pavement evaluation, engineering, and condition assessmentsthatmirror the ECS local office footprint.
- Provide expert testimony or serve as a technical expert in dispute resolutionor claims support, as needed.
- Assistin shaping long-term pavement practicestrategyfor the firm at a regional or national level.
- Act as a bridge between public-sector agencies and consulting teams, helping clients navigate federal processes, funding, and technical expectations.
Qualifications
BS in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited university; MS in Geotechnical Engineering preferred. Other similar engineering degrees considered if program is ABET accredited 1 - 3 years of geotechnical engineering experience Engineer in Training (EIT) certification with ability to obtain Professional Engineer (PE) license
