What you will do Johnson Controls is seeking a Controls & Systems Engineer to assist with product engineering in requirements gathering, validation, and troubleshooting control systems for HVAC equipment. Working as an integral part of the chiller Controls & Systems team, the successful candidate will serve a critical technical and communications liaison role between the Controls & Systems team members and the local product and project engineering teams. We are looking for a qualified engineer to participate in equipment control panel controls and communications development lifecycle activities, inclusive of design, requirements, implementation, test, and continuous improvement. This position is based onsite in New Freedom, PA. Candidates must be commuting distance or open to relocation. How you will do it
Support product development, collect product requirements and create software functional specifications or software change requests to software team. Facilitate troubleshooting of field issues, work together with product engineers and software/hardware engineers to identify the issues and give out the solution. Manage and coordinate a test throughout the process from test design and planning through execution to completion including preliminary analysis of data results.
Develop controls test plan to validate functionality of control system. Participate in the development of and/or receive test specifications from internal customer group and development team(s); seek out and acquire customers from other areas/disciplines who may wish to benefit from testing a particular subject. Work with Test & Facilities Management team, customer groups, and other resources to actively manage the test from set up to completion. This includes daily monitoring and planning, communication, direct data acquisition, review data acquired, provide engineering analysis of data acquired, problem resolution, and other activities necessary to efficiently perform and complete testing in a timely fashion. Use experience to recommend the development of, or develop new procedures, processes, resources geared to the ability to provide more efficient, accurate, or advanced testing services. What you will need Required
This is an entry-level position requiring a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline. An academic background in controls engineering and development testing, with use of a variety of test instrumentation to perform test data acquisition and data analysis, test troubleshooting and diagnostics, technical reporting, and related communication at various levels. Exposure to a variety of production machinery, industrial sensors, logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, emulators, probes and other equipment.
