*Top Global Tech Company Seeking Audio Prototyper*
*Must Be Onsite in Seattle* Overview We are seeking an Audio Experiences Prototyper to design and build interactive, research-driven audio experiences across emerging hardware and software platforms. This role sits at the intersection of audio technology, games, wearable computing, and extended reality, and is ideal for someone who thrives in ambiguous, fast-evolving environments and enjoys turning experimental ideas into functional prototypes. In this role, you will collaborate closely with researchers, designers, and engineers to explore future-facing interaction models and audio capabilities. Your work will help evaluate, communicate, and demonstrate the potential of new technologies through compelling, interactive experiences used in research studies, demos, and advanced prototypes. This is a hands-on, exploratory role for a technologist who is equally comfortable working in a game engine, shaping audio interactions, and collaborating with multidisciplinary partners to bring abstract concepts to life. What You'll Do You will rapidly prototype interactive audio-forward experiences that may span software, hardware, human interaction, firmware, and experimental platforms. You will partner with research scientists to translate early-stage technologies, tools, and systems into engaging, functional experiences that can be tested, evaluated, and shared. You will implement and integrate audio features into broader multi-modal experiences, including those that combine sound with visuals, spatial interaction, and novel input methods. You will support demonstrations, research explorations, and presentations by creating experiences that clearly communicate complex technical ideas in intuitive and engaging ways. You will work independently in areas of uncertainty, while also contributing through open communication, feedback, and collaboration with diverse technical and creative stakeholders. Required Experience and Skills You have 3-5+ years of experience working in games, immersive systems, or wearable products, with hands-on development or prototyping experience. You are comfortable reading and writing code in C, C++, C#, and have experience building interactive content in Unity and/or Unreal Engine. You have a solid foundation in software development and understand how systems fit together across engines, toolchains, and platforms. You demonstrate a strong growth mindset and are comfortable receiving feedback, iterating quickly, and navigating ambiguity. You communicate clearly and effectively when discussing technical ideas with both technical and non-technical collaborators. Core Technical Competencies Proficiency with Unity 3D or Unreal Engine Strong C# experience, with familiarity in C or C++ Experience using version control systems such as Git Hands-on experience with Digital Audio Workstations such as Reaper, Ableton Live, Pro Tools, or Logic Pro Ability to prototype and iterate quickly on interactive audio and gameplay-driven experiences Nice to Have Experience Background in academia, including experience as a research or teaching assistant Experience creating art installations or experimental interactive works Interest or experience in presenting technical concepts through creative or experiential formats Familiarity with Python for tooling, prototyping, or data workflows Exposure to digital signal processing concepts and audio systems Experience with Max/MSP or similar visual audio programming environments Experience adapting, extending, or connecting existing codebases in unconventional or exploratory ways Education Bachelor's degree in computer science, music technology, acoustical engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience Why This Role This role offers the opportunity to work on both current and next-generation wearable and extended reality concepts, helping shape how people will experience sound, interaction, and digital environments in the future. You'll collaborate closely with leading researchers and technologists, contribute to exploratory work that influences long-term product directions, and build tangible prototypes that make emerging technology understandable and engaging. Work Environment You will work in a highly collaborative, research-driven environment alongside scientists, designers, and engineers exploring advanced audio, immersive systems, and interactive technologies. The environment values curiosity, autonomy, and experimentation, and supports hands-on building as a core method of discovery. *Job Type & Location*This is a Contract position based out of Redmond, WA. *Pay and Benefits*The pay range for this position is $75.00 - $95.00/hr.
