Deposit Operations Intern

Overview

The position of Intern will perform duties relative to their department to assist in achieving the overall goals of the Bank. The role will require some essential functions to be performed independently, however, the incumbent will often be expected to work in a team environment as well.

Responsibilities

  • Shadow Deposit Operations and Retirement Specialists, supervisors, and managers to learn more about each of the departments specific tasks as well as day to day operations.
  • Assist Record Fulfillment with the processing of returned mail. Also assist with the QC of uploaded daily documents for accuracy.
  • Assist Deposit Operations with credit verifications, this entails calling customers for verbal authorization, completion of required information, and the return of the documents to the requestors.
  • Assist Deposit Operations/Fulfillment with a safe deposit box project. This will entail assistance with scanning, uploading, and indexing safe deposit box documentation from the branches. This is important to help the Bank cut down on the amount of paper we have stored in various places and it will create one place where these documents can be found.
  • Assist Retirements with their beneficiary review project. This is a large project that will involve customer communication, as well as strong attention to detail
  • Performs a wide variety of tasks depending on the departmental assignment. These functions may encompass providing technical or customer support, administrative responsibilities or other tasks related to the department operations or programs.
  • Builds understanding of the overall concept of the company, including the brand, customer, product goals, and/or all other aspects of service.
  • Proactively engages with team and other internal departments to understand business responsibilities and goals.
  • Provides suggestions to management for improving customer service and internal processes.
  • Learns and becomes familiar with internal systems and software.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

Education
  • High School Diploma is required
  • Students entering their Junior or Senior year of college
Additional Requirements
  • Strong analytical and computer skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
  • Must maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times
  • Previous employment experience in a bank, accounting or finance environment is preferred
  • Strong customer service skills and experience preferred
  • Must have cyber security awareness to protect the digital environment, the Bank, and customers
  • Candidates for this position must be authorized to work in the United States on a full time basis for any employer without restriction
  • Visa Sponsorship will not be provided for this position

Expected Pay Range

The expected annual pay range for this role is $34,093 to $40,609. This pay range is the annual salary we in good faith expect to pay for this role at the time of posting. Actual compensation paid may fluctuate higher or lower than the posted range and the range may be modified in the future due to several factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, certifications, and qualifications, internal equity, adjustments to the requirements and responsibilities of the job, business needs, and economic and market data.
