Program Duration

Our internship program runs approximately 40 hours per week, from June 1st through mid-August.

The Impact You Will Have

This role is crucial as it supports the continuous improvement team within the Operational Excellence function. The intern will help identify, support, and execute on operational and internal process improvement initiatives centered around creating efficiencies. By working across various cross-functional areas, the intern will gain exposure and help with connecting key threads across the organization. This position involves collaborating and coordinating with various project stakeholders, including senior management, team managers, and team members. Additionally, the intern may manage small departmental and organizational projects as assigned and support the continuous improvement team with advancing their 2026-2027 roadmap.

Your responsibilities

  • Receives guidance and direction on routine or structured work assignments.
  • Assists in developing recommendations to solve problems.
  • Supports the creation of templates, agendas, and relevant execution/delivery materials.
  • Partners with departments or business areas to identify needs and prioritize activities based on provided timelines. May update project plans, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Participates in department and project planning/organizational activities.
  • Assists in coordinating projects and related activities to ensure work progresses on schedule.
  • May prepare presentations to report findings or provide status updates to supervisors or project leaders.
  • Actively engages in and documents discussions during assigned workgroups, committees, and project meetings.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

To be considered for this internship, candidates must meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Must be enrolled in an educational program for the duration of the internship.
  • Completed at least one year (2 semesters or credits equivalent) by the start of the internship.
  • Undergraduate student currently enrolled as a junior or senior.
  • Majoring in Public Health, Business, Healthcare Management, Industrial Engineering, w/interest in business, consulting, or related fields.
  • Excellent organizational skills and detail orientated mindset.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks in a timely manner.
  • Strong verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
  • Creative problem-solving skills.
  • Self-motivated, ability to work independently and collaboratively with team members.
  • Receptive to feedback and applies learnings.
  • Ability to work in a hybrid environment, including being on-site at least 2 days per week.

Preferred

  • Interest in process improvement and project management.
  • Coursework or experience in process/quality improvement.
  • Ability to problem solve and be agile.
  • Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Visio).
  • Interest in business, healthcare/insurance, consulting.
  • Ability to collect and analyze data, organize, and share findings.
  • Self-starter seeking out and creating opportunities for improvement in the organization.
  • Ability to be innovative and find ways to incorporate learnings/resources to projects.
  • Strong work ethic.
  • Familiarity with LEAN/Six Sigma Methodologies.

Compensation and Benefits:

Pay Range: $22.50 - $23.50 - $24.50 Hourly

Pay is based on several factors which vary based on position, including skills, ability, and knowledge the selected individual is bringing to the specific job.
