Job Description:

The Director Sales Training & Development is a critical role within the Genie organization, responsible for the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of a comprehensive Global Sales Team training syllabus focused on Machines & Parts. This includes both Product and Value selling skills.

The role requires close collaboration with Sales, Marketing, and Product Management teams to ensure alignment and support for all Sales Event coordination, as well as the support of execution of the Product Management Voice of the Customer (VOC) initiatives from each of the global regions.

What you'll do

  • Sales Training Development:
    • Design, develop, and implement a global training syllabus for Sales Teams, focusing on Machines & Parts.
    • Identify content & delivery owners for each course developed.
    • Incorporate both product knowledge and value-based selling techniques into the training modules.
    • Conduct regular assessments and updates of training materials to ensure relevance and effectiveness.
    • Customize training content to accommodate different cultural nuances and language preferences.
  • Customer Product Familiarization & Hire Desk Training:
    • Develop and support delivery of training programs to enhance customer product knowledge, ensuring customers are well-versed in the features and benefits of our products.
    • Provide comprehensive Hire Desk training to ensure effective customer interactions and satisfaction.
  • Sales Event Coordination:
    • Serve as the primary liaison between Sales, Marketing, and Product Management teams for all Sales Event planning and execution.
    • Coordinate logistics and content for Sales Events, ensuring alignment with business objectives and product messaging.
  • Support for Strategic Accounts:
    • Provide specialized support for customer events targeting our global Strategic accounts.
    • Work closely with the Sales and Product Management teams to ensure these events meet the specific needs and expectations of key customers.
  • Marketing Event Support:
    • Support the planning and delivery of customer events and selected marketing events and trade shows, liaising with marketing, product management and sales teams.
  • Product Management Voice of the Customer (VOC) Execution:
    • Support Director, Customer Experience and Product Management tTeams on the creation of VOC questionnaires.
    • Support the execution of Product Management's VOC initiatives across all global regions in co-ordination with Regional Product Management teams.
    • Collect, analyze, and report on customer feedback to drive continuous product improvement and innovation to support Genie New Product Development (NPD) programs.
  • Support NPD Programs
    • Support the development of product specification and project scope for new product development, ensuring customer VOC is addressed.
    • Coordinate and support customer councils for the validation of product design and quality.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration:
    • Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure training, events, and VOC initiatives are aligned with overall business strategies and objectives.
    • Provide regular updates and reports to senior management on the effectiveness of training programs, events, and VOC initiatives.

What you'll bring

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Marketing, Sales, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a sales training or customer engagement role, preferably in the machines and parts industry.
  • Strong understanding of Product and Value selling strategies.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and motivate a global sales team.
  • Proven experience in event coordination and project management.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across multiple teams and regions.
  • Willingness to travel internationally as required.
  • Experience of global strategic account management.
  • Working knowledge of VOC methodologies and product management processes.
  • AWP Product line & market knowledge and expertise

Languages:

  • Fluency in English, written and spoken.
  • Ideally fluency in multiple languages to cater to global stakeholders to ensure consistency in training across diverse cultures.

Travel:

  • Must be willing to travel (Up to 50%)

Salary: The salary range for this position is $173,500-$197,000 USD. The salary range may be higher or lower depending on the applicant's location. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for a performance bonus.
