Position Summary: As we grow, we're expanding our creative team in NYC with a handson Art Director who will lead packaging, campaigns, and brand expression across beauty and fragrance. Working closely with our Creative Director, this person will bring a balance of conceptual vision and production excellence-especially in beautyfocused product packaging.

The Art Director will lead creative development across packaging, campaigns, retail, and branded content. This role blends conceptual creative direction with deep expertise in production, materials, and packaging execution. The ideal candidate has strong experience in the beauty industry and thrives in a fastpaced, highly collaborative environment.

Your Role/Responsibilities:

  • Partner closely with the Creative Director to shape concepts and lead projects from ideation through final execution.
  • Lead, mentor, and inspire designers while setting a high standard for craft, quality, and creative innovation.
  • Own packaging design across new product launches, seasonal programs, and full line redesigns-including multiple fragrance lines.
  • Develop compelling advertising campaign concepts and presentation-ready mockups across digital, social, and physical channels.
  • Build and manage production-ready mechanicals; oversee comp creation, vendor communication, and on-press reviews as needed.
  • Maintain and evolve packaging standards, guidelines, and visual systems as the brand portfolio grows.
  • Support retail and merchandising initiatives, including Photoshop/Illustrator renderings, artwork prep, and design refinements.
  • Manage multiple workflows simultaneously, such as retail ads, press kits, and brand asset development.
  • Review match prints, mark up retouching, and ensure impeccable color accuracy and production quality.
  • Assist with monthly photoshoots through light pre-production coordination, on-set collaboration, and retouching oversight.

Skills That We're Looking For:

  • BFA/BS in Packaging Design, Graphic Design, or a related field.
  • Expert proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud - Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, Acrobat.
  • Strong experience (at least 5 years) in packaging and branding with an exceptional eye for detail, craft, and visual storytelling.
  • Ability to create high-quality 2D renderings for presentations and client reviews; experience with 3D rendering software is a plus!
  • Deep knowledge of packaging design, printing processes, materials, and structural considerations.
  • Solid retouching capabilities and familiarity with production best practices.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present ideas clearly and confidently.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Proven experience as a Senior Designer or Art Director leading high-level, complex, multi-workstream projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to push creative work beyond the brief and elevate concepts with strategic insight.
  • Highly organized, capable of juggling multiple priorities and anticipating project needs.
  • Ability to create and prepare mockup packaging for client presentations.

The anticipated annual salary range for this position is $85,000 - $95,000. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. The range listed is just one component of Taylor Corporation's total compensation and benefits package for employees.
