Apex isseeking atalented Project Manager withStormwater Infrastructure and Water Resourcesexperienceto join ourNortheast DivisionStormwater Infrastructure Group.

The candidate selected for this position must reside near one of the following Apex offices: Quincy, MA, Woburn, MA,Providence, RI, andGlastonbury, CT. They will have the option of working in the office full-time, working a hybrid schedule or working from home but they must be available to travel to local client and project sites.

The selected employee will provide technical leadershipand project managementfor a variety ofmunicipal andprivatestormwater and water resourcesprojects, including



  • Hydraulic-Hydrologic (H-H) modeling
  • Bridge, culvert and drainage system design
  • Inland and coastal flood mitigation planning and design
  • Civil site design and grading


Your Responsibilities as a Project Manager:



  • Work as a stormwater and water resources subject matter expert and be responsible for technical project delivery and design, scheduling, budgeting, and client management.
  • Supervise and direct individuals or teams of technical staff on complex projects and/or multiple smallerprojects.
  • Assist in the training and technical development of staff by various means including holding training seminars, providing technical guidance during project execution, and bringing new technical developments in-house.
  • Assist with strategic planning, training, proposals, and business development.
  • Consult with other technical staff and Project Managers on technical challengesin thestormwater and water resourcesdiscipline while also providing independenttechnical reviews onstormwater and water resources components ofprojectsfor other disciplines.
  • Overseethe technical accuracy ofprojectthrough regular communications with project staff, review of plans, specifications, reports, and calculations to ensure compliance with the firm's standards.
  • Recognize the potential risks of nonstandard technical matters or potential legal disputes by participating in required project risk and insurance training to minimize the firm's liability.
  • Present project updates and technicalinformationto the client and at public meetings to review and discuss project details


What we're looking for:



  • Bachelor of Science Degree in an Engineering discipline
  • 8+ years of related experience in stormwater and water resources, including design and project management
  • Registered Professional Engineerin the State of Massachusetts, or the ability to obtain same by reciprocity
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with clients, staff, subconsultants and contractors through effective leadership, and demonstrated written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong understanding of state and federal regulatory framework and experience interacting with regulators in the local and technical areas where Apex does work
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong desire to manage and mentor junior staff
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
