Job Description
Responsible and accountable for providing leadership and management of the Adult Outpatient Rehabilitation Therapy program, emphasizing the delivery of quality, cost effective, compassionate patient care at all therapy location in order to maximize the value, potential, and satisfaction of our customers.
- Perform patient evaluations, develop treatment plans, provide intervention as appropriate based upon qualifications and departmental needs.
- Assist with development, identification, and implementation of developmental budgets, business plans and improvements.
- Empower direct reports by delegating clear responsibility, accountability and authority to meet mutually agreed upon expectation.
- Select staff and provide input to Director of Rehabilitation and Pulmonary Services concerning termination of staff.
- Maintain a constant two-way flow of information to all key relationships.
- Communicate the mission, vision and values of the organization to all Rehab caregivers.
- Monitor daily performance of directs staff and is accountable for results of assigned cost centers/projects.
- Conduct performance appraisals and performance sessions of direct reports and supervise performance review of assigned staff.*
- Monitor customer satisfaction and initiate corrective action as needed.
- Identify and report problems, determine solution, and assist in their resolution.
- Cooperate with support staff and other health system departments in order to maximize the efficiency of non-clinical services such as the registering, scheduling, and billing of our patients.
- Seek ways to continually improve the value of our services and maximize our customers' rehabilitation potential by actively participating in activities such as in-services, staff meetings, team meetings, and continuing education courses.
- Maximize customer satisfaction by treating our customers with respect and responding to their needs in a prompt, friendly, and courteous manner.
- Review and modify departmental policies in time-frames determined by health system.
- Assist with recruitment, orientation, training, performance appraisals, disciplinary action as needed of Rehab Caregivers and students.
Job Requirements
| General Requirements |
* Licensed or license eligible by the State if licensure is applicable. |
| Work Experience |
* Minimum of two years of managerial experience at the Supervisor or Manager level. * Five years of supervisory experience preferred. * Five years of in outpatient/inpatient experience preferred. |
| Education |
* Bachelor's degree from a Rehabilitation related clinical program (OT, PT, Speech/Language, Psychology, Audiology, Nursing, Etc). |
| Specialized Knowledge and Skills |
* Must possess demonstrated leadership and management skills and effective communication skills. * Must possess planning and organization skills related to business plan development, financial/budget development, and daily program operation. * Demonstrates the ability to evaluate, analyze and problem solve * Able to demonstrate the knowledge and skill necessary to provide care based on physical, psycho/social, educational, safety and related criteria, appropriate to the age of the patients services are related to principle duties and responsibilities of the position. The skills and knowledge needed to provide such care may be gained through education, training, or experience. |
