Job Summary



The Director of Sales, Specialty Bedding is a key commercial leader within FXI's Retail Division, responsible for managing and expanding strategic partnerships with regional bedding and furniture retailers with a specific focus on the Molecule brand. This regionally focused role drives revenue, margin, and category growth by owning business development and pipeline management, customer strategy, leading line reviews and negotiations, and partnering cross-functionally with Product Development, Supply Chain, Customer Service, Marketing, Demand Planning, and Finance. The ideal candidate brings strong bedding or home furnishings expertise, excels in customer engagement, and can translate market insights into actionable business strategies.



Key Responsibilities



  • Own and grow regionally focused and target bedding and furniture retail accounts, delivering sales, revenue, profitability, and market share goals.
  • Develop multi-year account strategies aligned with FXI's Specialty Bedding priorities, identifying new product, assortment, and category opportunities with a specific focus on the Molecule brand.
  • Bring forward initiatives and actionable strategies for growing FXI's Molecule business in the assigned region and participate in trade shows, Markets, and other events as required.
  • Lead customer line reviews, business reviews, pricing discussions, promotions, and planogram planning to drive joint business success.
  • Build strong relationships across customer merchandising, buying, operations, and leadership teams; act as a trusted advisor and ambassador for FXI.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, Product Development, Supply Chain, Marketing, and Finance to ensure seamless execution of customer programs and service expectations.
  • Analyze POS, margin, inventory, and competitive trends to guide decision-making and optimize performance.
  • Proactively assess customer needs, clarify requirements, and ensure timely responses to RFQs, program updates, and information requests.
  • Provide accurate forecasting, reporting, CRM documentation, and market intelligence to support business planning and innovation.
  • Participate actively in internal weekly, monthly, and annual sales and planning meetings, sharing insights and updates that support strategy and execution.


Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 5-10 years of sales or account management and business development experience in consumer products; bedding, furniture, or home goods experience strongly preferred.
  • Proven success managing regional retail accounts and retail account support teams
  • Strong analytical and financial acumen; able to build business cases and lead negotiations.
  • Exceptional communication, relationship management, and organizational skills with high attention to detail.
  • Effective operating in a cross-functional, matrixed environment with the ability to influence across teams.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and business analytics tools; CRM experience preferred.
  • Ability to travel 50%+ to build relationships and support account needs
