The Associate Vice President, Sales - East is responsible for leading regional sales strategy and driving revenue growth across the Eastern United States in alignment with Econolite's strategic vision. This role owns overall regional performance, including account growth, market expansion, and channel development, while ensuring the highest levels of customer service and long-term partnership.

The AVP will analyze market segments, economic conditions, and customer needs to identify growth opportunities and expand Econolite's presence within the region. This role provides executive-level visibility into regional performance, delivering timely and consistent reporting on results, forecasts, and strategic initiatives to the Senior Vice President of Sales. The successful candidate will be a proven sales leader with a strong track record selling complex, technical solutions-primarily within the government and public-sector marketplace. They will be a collaborative, customer-focused leader who works closely with internal teams and external partners to deliver solutions that create measurable value for the customers and communities we serve.

DUTIES

  • Manages and develops a regional sales organization, including account executives, field service representatives, product specialists, inside sales, and distributor partners, to achieve revenue, profitability, and market share objectives. The AVP, Sales is accountable for driving results through effective performance management, coaching, and the continued development of individual and team capability.
  • Manages and partners with independent sales agents who represent the company within the region, across defined territories and key accounts, to drive consistent performance and market coverage.
  • Develops and recommends action programs that support strategic and tactical sales development plans.
  • Partners with local Econolite business units to ensure clear communication and execution of action plans aligned to regional market opportunities.
  • Applies strong financial and business acumen to ensure regional operations remain within approved budgetary guidelines.
  • Analyze market trends and competitor activities to identify new business opportunities.
  • Collaborates with Marketing to develop and execute targeted campaigns and promotions that generate demand for Company products and services.
  • Partners with Product Management to identify opportunities for revenue expansion and adjacent market growth.
  • Maintains strong market visibility by representing Econolite through relevant industry associations, conferences, and customer-facing events.
  • Prepare and present regular sales forecasts, performance reports, and strategic recommendations to executive leadership.
  • Owns and manages channel partner relationships across the Eastern region, serving as the primary liaison between Econolite and assigned partners.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year university, preferably in transportation, civil, electrical, or mechanical engineering, with 7-10+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proven track record of consistently achieving and exceeding sales targets in highly competitive markets.
  • Demonstrated leadership capability managing and developing teams of 20-25+ sales professionals, including account executives, sales support, and field service representatives.
  • Ability to synthesize complex deal structures and organize them to optimize revenue, margin, and profitability.
  • Experience selling transportation and infrastructure solutions such as traffic controllers, cabinets, signals, systems, conduit, poles, and signage; familiarity with government sales and CRM tools for data input, analysis, and reporting is a plus.
  • Expertise in pipeline management and in forecasting sales and shipments in both near-term and long-term contexts.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to stand, walk, squat, and bend at the waist for extended periods of time
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds

BUSINESS TRAVEL & HOURS
Frequent business travel is required, averaging up to 50% or more per month, including overnight stays. The role requires a high degree of availability and responsiveness while traveling to support customers, teams, and business operations.
