Program Planning, Development, and Marketing
* Assist the AR 4-H Outdoor Skills Instructor in development and planning outdoor skills activities and curriculum.
* Assist the AR 4-H Outdoor Skills Instructor with marketing efforts
*Develop educational resources including supplemental materials to support existing curriculum
Collaboration & Cooperation - for statewide programming
* Work collaboratively with other State 4-H Staff
* Work collaboratively with Support Staff
* Work collaboratively with 4-H Center staff
* Work collaboratively with other Extension staff
* Work collaboratively with external clients
Professional Development
* Attend training to develop and maintain programmatic facilitation skills
* Attend training to attain and maintain certifications relevant to the job
Program Implementation
* Assist the AR 4-H Outdoor Skills Coordinator with facilitation of all forms or programming both in person and virtual
* Assist with the development and teaching of workshops to meet county and state needs.
*Assist with all shooting sports endeavors including - volunteer training, enrollment, scoring, setup, event planning, and all duties related to the events.
*Assist with Outdoor Skills endeavors including - volunteer training, enrollment, scoring, setup, event planning, and all duties related to the events.
*Assist with inventory management
*Be able to work independently on tasks and programs extending the education reach of the program area while reporting to and working with the Outdoor Skills faculty member.
Assist with other duties as assigned - example 4-H record books Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Extension or Ag Education, Youth Development or education, outdoor recreation, or other related area of study is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to develop, organize, and deliver educational programs

  • Ability to develop and/or organize educational curriculum for youth audiences

  • Excellent communication and writing skills

  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team; must be self-motivated and directed with the ability to achieve measurable results

  • Demonstrated positive interpersonal skills and willingness to serve diverse audiences

  • Previous work experience with Extension 4-H Youth Development and/or Extension preferred.

  • Has knowledge of methods of teaching and instruction.

  • Possesses knowledge in technical writing.

  • Has knowledge of various needs assessment and research methods.

  • Able to solve problems independently and manage projects alone.

  • Can use computers and other forms of technology to gather data, communicate and report to other individuals and agencies.

  • Proficiency in computer programs such as Microsoft Office applications, data management, and email. Good oral and written communication skills. Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize work from multiple projects. Ability to exercise initiative, make sound judgement, and assume responsibility for various projects and activities. Ability to respond positively to direction from supervisors and work without direct supervision. Ability to remain focused and exercise close attention to detail.

  • Prefer 4-H shooting sports instructor and/or 4-H shooting sports experience or related field.
