Position Highlights

The Department of Internal Medicine is hiring an early career scientist
with a focus on Liver and Lung Disease, mechanisms of Liver and Liver
related Lung Injury.

The successful candidate will fulfill the responsibilities of a faculty
member in an appropriate department, actively participate in teaching,
clinical service and/or scholarly work, and must qualify for an
appointment at the rank of assistant professor.

The successful candidate will meet the requirements of a career track
faculty according to the College and University guidelines.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Responsible for operation of a specialized research area or lab operating with considerable latitude in un-reviewed actions or decisions.
  • Collaborates in the development of new techniques.
  • Co-authors or authors publications and may co-present results with principal investigators at meetings or conferences.
  • Oversee day-to-day operation of study and may supervise other research and support personnel.
  • Actively participates in acquiring research funding, including initiating and writing grant proposals. Research and other scholarly work.
  • Develops, designs, and conducts one or more medium/large and complex research projects.
  • Serves as a senior collaborator on a multi-faceted or highly complex research initiative, leading substantive aspects of the overall project.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Have an MD, DO, PhD or an equivalent degree from an accredited institution.
  • Demonstrate a track record of publishing research findings.
Preferred Qualifications

  • Have a minimum of 2 years' experience in undergraduate medical educations.
  • Show experience mentoring students in research projects.
  • Demonstrate experience supervising faculty and staff.
  • Exhibit outstanding interpersonal communication and
    professionalism skills.
