Symetra has an exciting opportunity to join our Account Management team as a Process Owner!

About the role

As a Process Owner, you will help drive effective management and continuous improvement of business processes within the Benefits Account Management and Implementation teams. You'll analyze how work gets done today, identify opportunities for improvement, and help design solutions that enhance the endtoend customer experience.

In this role, you'll collaborate with crossfunctional partners to document processes, make recommendations, support decisionmaking, and assist with the design and rollout of process changes and tools. You will also lead and deliver various team projects-often involving multiple stakeholders and departments.

What You will Do



  • Process Review & Improvement

    • Conduct process reviews across the end to end customer experience within the Benefits Division.
    • Analyze customer feedback, internal workflows, and team tools to assess effectiveness.
    • Partner with cross functional teams to define desired future-state processes and recommend improvements.
    • Implement approved changes that streamline data flow, communication, and overall efficiency.
    • May own ongoing processes such as the technology credit process.


  • Change Management & Training

    • Coordinate updates to documentation, job aids, training materials, and process tools.
    • Partner with Learning Resources and functional leaders to support training needs.
    • Continuously evaluate assigned processes to identify bottlenecks, risks, and opportunities for automation.
    • Ensure processes comply with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies.
    • Provide consultative feedback to teams across the Benefits Division.


  • Project Leadership

    • Ensure assigned projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet customer expectations.
    • Develop project structures, schedules, estimates, resource plans, and status reports.
    • Manage project teams and review deliverables to ensure accuracy and quality.
    • Support leadership with special projects, including presentations, meeting materials, reports, and analytics.

Compensation

Salary Range: $79,900 - $133,200 plus eligibility for annual bonus program

Who You Are



  • High school diploma required; bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 3+ years of cumulative, relevant experience.
  • Group Benefits knowledge required. Stop Loss experience a plus.
  • Skilled in analysis, problem solving, communication, collaboration, and project management.
  • Experience in Account Management and/or Group Benefits insurance industry processes (preferred).
  • Able to use best practices and business insights to improve services and outcomes.
  • Comfortable working in a cross functional, fast paced environment.
  • Microsoft Office Suite proficiency required.
  • Smartsheet knowledge a plus.
