The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Position Summary

The Irving Institute for Clinical and Translational Research seeks a Research Assistant to work as a nutrition/dietary research technician in our Bionutrition Core.

Responsibilities



  • Duties include preparing food for research participants using precise, accurate, and food safe methodologies.
  • Delivering and retrieving meals from inpatient/outpatient research participants
  • Setting up and calibrating equipment
  • Collecting data and keeping records of results
  • Developing protocol-specific recipes using NDS-R software
  • Educating research participants on protocol-specific food instructions (non-clinical)
  • Other duties necessary to the functioning of the laboratory, such as ordering and maintaining food supplies and equipment; and following cleaning schedules
  • Performs related duties & responsibilities as assigned/requested


Minimum Qualifications



  • Requires a bachelor's degree and one and a half years of related experience in nutrition/dietetics or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.


Preferred Qualifications



  • Completed food protection course.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, able to communicate with staff and research participants.
