Job Description

Using project management best practices, the Project Lead develops and manages the technical, financial, and administrative aspects of a non-complex or small portfolio to ensure they are administered and implemented in a manner consistent with CRDF Global and funder objectives.


Major Responsibilities:

  • Plans and executes projects using project management best practices for scope of work development, deliverable management, schedule management, risk management, change management, monitoring and evaluation, and identification and resolution of issues and lessons learned.
  • Develops and manages project budgets; coordinates with pricing and functional teams to price budgets, conducts labor and other direct cost forecasting, and leads financial risk and change management processes.
  • Manages customer, technical expert, and international stakeholder relationships and networks on behalf of the program.
  • Leads technical and financial reporting of projects to meet the stated project, program, and agreement objectives.
  • Develops concepts and new project ideas as part of capture and proposal development process.
  • Represents program or projects at external events.
  • Supports other programs and staff, as required.
  • Travels within the U.S. and internationally as appropriate (0-15%).
  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications:



  • 3+ years experience managing projects with components including any of the following: international workshops, trainings, conferences, study tours, fellowships, webinars/remote training, or similar capacity-building efforts.
  • Bachelor's degree in related field. Master's degree or PMP certification preferred.
  • Previous experience supporting U.S. Government clients, particularly the U.S. Department of State (DOS), preferred.
  • Familiarity preferred with international nonproliferation, counter-proliferation, WMD threat reduction, advanced and emerging technologies, or similar issues.
  • Demonstrates strong customer relationship management, communication, diplomatic, and negotiating skills and good judgment.
  • Excellent organizational skills, ability to meet deadlines.
  • Exhibits strong writing and proposal development skills.
  • Familiarity with other countries and cultures, ability to work within matrixed global team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and ability to work with more advanced software, such as Microsoft Project is preferred.
