Overview

The US Controller is the senior accounting leader for Hexagon's Autonomous Solutions Business Area across the United States. This role oversees all US accounting operations, financial close and reporting, compliance, audits, internal controls, and accounting operations for multiple US entities. The US Controller manages a team of 4 direct reports and a total team of 11 located across the US.

The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting knowledge under IFRS, experience operating in a multinational environment, expertise with SAP, and preferably experience with Infor SyteLine. The role requires strong leadership, the ability to operate at both strategic and hands-on levels, and the capability to drive quality, stability, and consistency across all accounting processes.

The Location: Remote within the United States (CST, MST, or PST time zones strongly preferred)



Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

Accounting Leadership and Close

    Lead all US accounting operations for the Autonomous Solutions Business Area, including general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, fixed assets, payroll accounting, and intercompany activities.
  • Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes for US entities, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely reporting into Hexagon Group systems.
  • Ensure all journal entries, reconciliations, and adjustments are completed and reviewed in accordance with Group timelines and quality standards.
  • Oversee intercompany accounting, settlement, and issue resolution with both US and international Hexagon entities.

Financial Reporting and Compliance

  • Produce accurate IFRS-based financial reporting for all US entities and ensure alignment with Hexagon Group reporting requirements.
  • Lead preparation for internal and external audits, coordinating with Hexagon Group Audit, local auditors, and Business Area leadership.
  • Ensure tax compliance through partnership with external advisors and Hexagon Group Tax, including federal, state, and local filings, sales tax, property tax, and other regional requirements.
  • Maintain compliance with internal controls, policies, and accounting procedures. Strengthen controls and documentation where needed.

Leadership and Team Management

  • Lead, develop, and mentor a team of 4 direct reports and 11 total team members across different US locations.
  • Set performance expectations, provide coaching, and drive a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Build team capability through training, cross-training, and developing future leaders.

Systems, Processes, and Continuous Improvement

  • Oversee accounting processes within SAP and ensure stable, efficient, and well-controlled workflows.
  • Leverage data accuracy and system capabilities for reporting and compliance.
  • Work with IT and finance teams to support enhancements and integrations across SAP and Infor SyteLine when applicable.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and drive standardization across US accounting operations.

Business Partnership

  • Serve as the primary accounting contact for US entity leaders and collaborate closely with FP&A, Group Finance, internal controls, and the global Business Area finance organization.
  • Support business initiatives, investments, contracts, and operational decisions with clear accounting guidance.
  • Provide insights on financial results and variances to Business Area leadership.


Qualifications

Must-Have:

  • CPA required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 5 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge under IFRS.
  • Experience working in multinational, multi-entity organizations.
  • Strong ERP experience with SAP required.
  • Experience with Infor SyteLine preferred.
  • Demonstrated success leading distributed accounting teams.
  • Advanced skills in Excel and working knowledge of financial systems and consolidation processes.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.

Nice-to-Have:

  • Big 4 public accounting experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience supporting both IFRS and US GAAP differences.
  • Experience with acquisition integration, system migrations, or process transformation initiatives.
  • Experience working within a matrixed global organization.

Compensation & Benefits

Hexagon's Autonomy & Positioning division provides the following compensation range and a general description of other compensation and benefits. This compensation range is based on a full-time schedule. The Company reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range or offer other compensation depending on circumstances not related to an applicant's sex or other status protected by local, state or federal law. Our benefits and bonus plans are reviewed annually and are subject to change at the company's discretion.

Hiring Salary Range: USD $136,800.00 - $218,900.00 per annum

Bonus Eligibility: We offer a company profit share and individual incentive-based bonus programs.
