Security Officer - Retail Unarmed Mobile Patrol

As a Security Officer - Unarmed Driving Role in Tacoma, WA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. Join Allied Universal at a busy retail location where you will conduct routine mobile and foot patrols, stay highly visible, and help to identify and report security-related concerns. This is an unarmed, driving post requiring a valid driver's license, with regular patrol rounds across the property. You will also assist customers, communicate clearly with store teams, and support a welcoming shopping experience through teamwork and integrity.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to visitors, shoppers, and store associates by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including disturbances, medical calls, and fire and/or alarm activations.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout retail sales floors, stock areas, and exterior perimeter areas to help to deter unwanted activity and identify potential hazards.
• Monitor entrances, exits, and high-traffic areas, reporting suspicious activity and/or policy violations to site leadership and Allied Universal supervision.
• Complete required documentation such as incident reports, shift logs, and patrol activity records, and communicate key information during post handoff.

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 21 years of age.
• A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
