Senior Director, Product Management

The Senior Director of Product Management reports directly to the CTO of Boingo Wireless. This strategic leader is responsible for driving the vision, roadmap, product commercialization, and cross-functional execution for Boingo's wireless portfolio, which includes WiFi, DAS, neutral-host, Private 5G, and advanced roaming technologies.

Key Responsibilities

Product Vision & Strategy



  • Define multi-year product vision and roadmaps, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and market demands.
  • Collaborate closely with marketing, sales, finance, and executive team to conduct comprehensive market analysis across WiFi, DAS, Private 5G, roaming, and enterprise connectivity segments.
  • Monitor and influence wireless industry standards to maintain Boingo's leadership in technological innovation.
  • Oversee segmentation, pricing strategies, packaging, and the development of compelling value propositions for the company's products and services.


Customer, Market & Ecosystem Engagement



  • Engage actively with carriers, enterprises, OEMs, venue operators, and standards bodies to foster relationships and gain insight into industry trends.
  • Lead customer discovery initiatives and validate market demand by connecting directly with customers and partners, ensuring product offerings fulfill market needs and business objectives.
  • Support sales activities by providing expert product knowledge, delivering demonstrations, assisting with product positioning, and responding to requests for proposals (RFPs), thereby enhancing Boingo's market presence and driving successful commercial outcomes.


End-to-End Product Lifecycle Ownership



  • Translate customer needs into detailed engineering specifications to guide product development efforts.
  • Drive the execution of product concepts from inception through launch, ensuring readiness and alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Maintain a prioritized product backlog to manage workflow and development priorities.
  • Align cross-functional teams to facilitate seamless collaboration and efficient product delivery.


Go-to-Market & Commercialization



  • Develop and implement go-to-market strategies, including product launches, targeted personas, and partner initiatives.
  • Work collaboratively with marketing to create messaging and sales enablement content that effectively communicates product value.
  • Support forecasting, revenue planning, and return-on-investment (ROI) modeling to ensure commercial success.


Leadership & Organizational Impact



  • Build and mentor a team of product managers, fostering professional growth and leadership development.
  • Drive a culture of innovation, accountability, and customer focus throughout the product management organization.
  • Communicate key performance indicators (KPIs), risks, and strategic direction to executive leadership.


Key Performance Indicators



  • Product adoption rates, customer satisfaction (CSAT/NPS), and revenue growth.
  • Speed and efficiency in bringing products to market.
  • Product margin and usage analytics.
  • Successful execution of product roadmaps.
  • Growth of ecosystem partnerships and achievements in industry standardization.


Requirements



  • At least 10 years of experience in product management within wireless networking or telecommunications.
  • Demonstrated success in delivering connectivity or infrastructure products.
  • Strong technical fluency and expertise across wireless standards.
  • Experience working with carriers, OEMs, and industry standards bodies.
  • Excellent communication and executive presentation skills.
  • Advanced analytical abilities and proficiency in financial modeling.
  • Bachelor's degree required; technical or advanced degree preferred.


Competencies



  • Thorough understanding of OSS/BSS systems, roaming, identity management, and multi-tenant architectures.
  • Familiarity with technologies such as WiFi 7, 5G Standalone (SA), sensing, and CBRS.
  • Experience designing regulatory-aligned solutions, including E911.
  • Strong skills in developing and nurturing strategic partnerships.
