UVA Health University Medical Center is seeking Sterile Processing Technicians to support high acuity surgical services across our perioperative environment. The Role At UVA Health, Sterile Processing Technicians are trusted experts in infection prevention and surgical readiness, working in close partnership with the Operating Room, Perioperative Services, and clinical teams to ensure the highest standards of surgery preparation. Your work directly supports safe surgeries and infection prevention which contributes directly to successful patient outcomes. Experience: 1 year or relevant experience preferred, Experience as CNA, EMT, PCT or CMA highly preferred. Licensure: No certification required at hire, obtaining certain certifications within 6 months of hire may be required. See position requisition for details. PHYSICAL DEMANDS Job requires sitting/standing for prolonged periods, frequently bending/stooping/traveling and reaching (overhead, extensive, repetitive).Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull 25-50lbs. Working in environment with fumes, chemicals, vibrations, heat, noise, blood/body fluids and infectious disease. The starting base rate for this role is $17.50 hourly.
