Overview

Come Find Your Spark at Quartz! We are looking for a dynamic, forward thinking, leader to join our Digital Technology team as a Senior Director, Infrastructure. The Senior Director, Infrastructure will provide strategic leadership for developing and executing a comprehensive Information Technology strategy as well as administrative oversight for Infrastructure (including Cloud), digital communications, and desktop engineering. This position will be responsible for the performance, design, planning, budgeting, securing, monitoring and integration of Information Systems infrastructure and associated software. The Senior Director, Infrastructure will also be responsible for network design, disaster recovery, and business continuity for the functions overseen. The position will ensure coordination occurs for related Information Technology systems projects with management, users, IT staff, and vendors.

Responsibilities

  • Information Technology Strategy - development and execution
    • Evaluates and researches new technologies that align with the strategic direction of IT and business.
    • Provides project management support, business requirements, definitions, and consultation for the general coordination of Information Technology projects.
    • Identifies and presents to executive leader the best long-term direction for the information services function.
    • Develop, manage, and maintain assigned IT budgets.
  • Department Leadership
    • Select, develop, motivate, train, and retain competent, engaged staff.
    • Provide opportunities for professional development. Reward and recognize accomplishments and successes and manage performance improvement, as needed.
    • Ensure appropriate distribution of the workload amongst staff members. Maintain complete and appropriate staffing to meet company goals.
    • Identify and implement opportunities to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency and increase engagement of the staff.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in management information systems, business administration, or related field with 12+ years of experience managing 3 or more major information technology functions (infrastructure, operations, development, desktop engineering, digital communications, etc.)
    • OR associate degree with 15+ years of experience managing 3 or more major information technology functions (infrastructure, operations, development, desktop engineering, digital communications, etc.)
    • OR high school equivalency with 18+ years of experience managing 3 or more major information technology functions (infrastructure, operations, development, desktop engineering, digital communications, etc.)
  • Must have experience enabling cloud technologies and cloud governance.
  • Demonstrated thought leadership in information architecture and in creating and marketing innovative, scalable business solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to problem solve and apply analytical thinking skills.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the general direction of the information systems industry and technology (evolving products, services, etc.). Frequent reading of periodicals and other ways of learning about state-of-the-art information systems.
  • Excellent leadership, communication and persuasion skills, at all levels of the organization, including high-level interactions with partners and external parties.
  • Strong knowledge of digital and unified communications, services, and products.
  • Excellent management skills to successfully perform planning, directing, reporting, and administrative responsibilities.
  • Ability to think both analytically and synthetically and to have a sense of materiality throughout the spectrum of job responsibilities.
  • Works well under pressure, adaptable to change, and can manage multiple projects simultaneously and complete timely.
  • Ability to create strong relationships and provide positive experiences for internal partners.

This position may work remotely but will be required to report to our office in Madison, WI, when needed. Hardware and equipment will be provided by the company, but candidates must have access to high-speed, non-satellite Internet to successfully work from home.
